Roma continues to work hard on Mason Greenwood, the Giallorossi’s first major transfer target to strengthen Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack.

After initial discussions and evaluations in recent weeks, the Roman club has reportedly already reached an agreement with the player, who is ready to sign a contract worth just under €5 million per season.

This important agreement confirms the Englishman’s desire for a change of scenery and a move to the capital.

As reported by Il Messaggero, the ball is now in the ownership’s court. The Friedkins are ready to speak directly with Frank McCourt, owner of Marseille and also an American, to try to unlock the deal.

Roma’s initial offer is reportedly ready: €40 million plus bonuses. Marseille, however, is reportedly asking for €50 million plus bonuses.

The offer will be sent only after June 30th, to send a signal to UEFA and demonstrate that Roma has worked almost exclusively this month to resolve the capital gains issue.

Gasperini would like to have Greenwood available by July 13th, the day of the training camp at Trigoria. The player is also pushing for a new adventure and the chance to play in the Champions League with Roma.
