AS Roma are preparing for a major summer reshuffle, with Gian Piero Gasperini now fully in charge of shaping the squad.

With clarity finally restored around the club’s direction after Claudio Ranieri’s departure, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Roma management can begin making key decisions on who stays, who leaves and where reinforcements are needed. Gasperini has made it clear he does not want a full rebuild, but rather to strengthen an already solid core.

“This team has an important base. It doesn’t need rebuilding, it needs improving,” he has indicated in recent days.

That core is now likely to remain largely intact, with several players seeing their futures improve under the new coach.

Lorenzo Pellegrini is one of them, with growing optimism over a contract renewal despite his current deal nearing expiry. Gasperini is a strong admirer of the Roma captain, even describing him as the most technically gifted player in the squad behind Paulo Dybala.

Trusted figures such as Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante are also expected to stay, with potential contract extensions back on track after previously being paused. Mario Hermoso could also remain, with the club holding an option to extend his deal.

However, several departures are already planned. Stephan El Shaarawy, Kostas Tsimikas and Evan Ferguson are among those expected to move on, while Artem Dovbyk could also leave after failing to convince Gasperini.

Others remain uncertain, including Angelino, Evan Ndicka and Manu Kone, with potential sales also linked to financial considerations before the end of June.

Roma’s summer is shaping up to be one of significant change, but with a clear direction under Gasperini.
