After his big move from Parma, Cristian Chivu has found the key to leading Inter.
The Romanian coach’s team is currently in second place, awaiting AC Milan, one point behind Napoli, who are first on 31 points, and has secured a place in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.
Chivu initially had to rely on his old guard because some summer signings struggled to settle in. Petar Sucic and Manuel Akanji have established themselves, while Andy Diouf and Luis Henrique seemed ready to leave Milan as early as January.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Roma, seeking offensive reinforcements, had shown a real interest in the Brazilian winger, but Inter did not show any signs of wanting to sell him.
The Nerazzurri acquired him from Marseille for €23 million plus bonuses and are confident he will soon be given his due. Already against Como, Luis Henrique, launched from the start by Chivu, put in a fine performance, highlighted by an assist for Lautaro Martinez’s goal.
Given Denzel Dumfries’ injury and the match against Como in Milan, they are more confident than ever in the 2001-born talent, and especially in January, he will not be sold.
