Santos drew 1-1 with São Paulo in the second round of the Brasileirão at Vila Belmiro. Zé Rafael put the hosts ahead from Rafael’s parry before Calleri headed the visitors level.
According to Globo.com, debutant Rony impressed with relentless movement and left to applause, while goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão made a fine save from Bobadilla but was less secure with the ball at his feet.
Adonis Frías risked an early dismissal after a clash with Calleri. He later drove forward and hit from range, Rafael spilled and Zé Rafael finished. Frías was taken off at half-time.
Lucas escaped Zé Rafael and Escobar as São Paulo built the move that ended with Calleri outjumping João Basso for the equaliser. Basso, on his first outing of the season, squandered a late chance.
João Schmidt was slow in some decisions and collected a needless booking after a tangle with Luciano. Miguelito’s solo run sparked penalty appeals, Barreal began brightly with a shot saved by Rafael then faded, and Rollheiser added little late on.
On the right, Mayke’s crossing frustrated and he struggled against Tapia, while Escobar misplaced passes on the left. Gabriel Menino was lively yet often dwelt, and captain Gabriel missed a clear opening to make it 2-0 early in the second half.
Coach Juan Vojvoda organised a more secure back line and paired Rony with Gabriel up front. He kept the structure after the interval, a conservative call, and the draw does not reduce pressure on his work.
