Jade Rose played the full 90 minutes as Canada began their 2026 SheBelieves Cup campaign with a 4-1 win over Colombia.

The Canadians opened the scoring on the half hour when Vanessa Gilles headed home former City winger Janine Sonis’ corner at the near post.

Sonis then made it two after the hour mark with a powerful free-kick, finding the net at Colombia goalkeeper Katherine Tapia’s side.

The South Americans committed bodies forward in an attempt to find a route back into the contest but were then caught on the counter attack to put the game out of sight.

It was Sydney Collins who made it three, heading home her first senior Canada goal on the rebound after Marie-Yasmine Alidou’s vicious effort from distance had cannoned back off the crossbar.

Colombia did pull one back late on through a Leicy Santos penalty after Rose was adjudged to have committed a foul in the area but then saw themselves reduced to ten just two minutes later when Gisela Robledo was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The game was then put to bed in stoppage time, as Nichelle Prince fired home number four for the Canadians.

Rose and co. are back in SheBelieves Cup action on Wednesday 4 March when they face the United States of America in Columbus, Ohio.

City v Spurs: Everything to Play For

We’re back in action at the Joie Stadium on Saturday 21 March, when we welcome Tottenham Hotspur for a 12:00 (UK) kick-off.

City sit top of the WSL table with just six matches remaining, boasting a 100% record on home soil, but that’ll be put to the test against the visitors.

Indeed, Spurs still hold faint hopes of European qualification and have lost just once on the road in 2026, even winning their last away fixture in the WSL 7-3 at Aston Villa.

It all points towards another thrilling clash at the Joie Stadium. Seated tickets available from just £15 for adults and £6 for Under-16s, with standing tickets on sale for just £13 for adults or £5 for Under-16s.

Don’t miss out as City’s push for the WSL title continues!
