Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has told his players to quickly forget about their much needed 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro handed United three points in a game in which there were two red cards, with both Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez and United goalscorer Casemiro receiving their marching orders.

Despite admitting the victory was “really important” for his team, Amorim has warned his players that they must now move on quickly.

“It’s nice to win but let’s forget about it and return to that urgency,” he said.

“We need to win the next game. That is the most important thing.

“It’s the urgency that we need to win because the situation is so hard in this moment.

“The feeling that we go to the next game and we need to win. That is the only way.”

Amorim was pleased with the way his side started the game after scoring twice following Sanchez’s fifth-minute red card but bemoaned how difficult the team made it for themselves.

“With everything going well, we complicated it with the sending off,” he said.

“I think we managed the second half well but in the end, the last 15 minutes, was tough for us. They scored a goal and we suffered together.

“We show that when everything is going well, we arrange something to make it difficult.”
