Ruben Amorim ‘to target’ Benfica centre-back António Silva for Milan rebuild | OneFootball

Ruben Amorim is reported to be targeting Benfica centre-back António Silva as AC Milan plan a squad overhaul for 2026/27, with the Portuguese coach recently appointed.

Gazzetta suggests Amorim has drawn up a list of reinforcements, with the Portugal international among those under close consideration.

Silva is not viewed as the top defensive priority, with Gonçalo Inácio of Sporting currently preferred because of Amorim’s familiarity with his qualities. The report adds that Silva remains a high-level alternative.

Silva, 22, is under contract at Benfica until June 2027 and has a €100m release clause. The club are working to extend his deal, though no agreement has been reached.

Amorim is also said to be tracking other Portuguese options, including Francisco Trincão of Sporting and PSG forward Gonçalo Ramos, a Benfica academy graduate. For now, Silva is focused on preparing for the new season with Benfica while awaiting developments on the proposed renewal.
