Henrique Araújo has left Benfica on a free transfer to join Casa Pia, signing a deal until June 2029. The clubs confirmed a permanent move, with Benfica retaining 50% of any future sale and a buy-back clause.

The 24-year-old striker arrived at Benfica in 2018 from Marítimo and quickly emerged as one of the academy’s leading prospects.

He progressed through the under-19s, under-23s and the B team before reaching the seniors. His first-team debut came in the 2021/22 League Cup final, and his first goal followed weeks later against Vizela. He then struck twice on the season’s final day against Paços de Ferreira.

A standout moment came in the 2021/22 UEFA Youth League final in Nyon, where he scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Salzburg, securing a landmark triumph for Benfica’s youth side.

The following season he scored in the Champions League against Midtjylland and Maccabi Haifa. In January 2023 he joined Watford on loan, making eight appearances, before returning to Portugal to feature for Famalicão and Arouca.
