South African tactician Rulani Mokwena has clinched his first trophy in charge of Algerian giants MC Alger.
MCA edged bitter rivals USM Alger 1-0 in the Super Cup final on Saturday, thanks to a decisive goal from Zakaria Naidji in the 73rd minute.
Thus, the reigning Algerian champions retained their crown and took their total tally to five Super Cup titles.
Mokwena has been tasked with defending the league title, winning domestic cup competitions and taking the team to the latter stages of the CAF Champions League.
Up next for the Algerians is a clash against DR Congo outfit FC Saint-Eloi Lupopo in Africa's elite club competition on 25 January, away from home.
