Georginio Rutter struck late as Brighton rescued a draw at home to West Ham after Jarrod Bowen's opener.
After a goalless first half Bart Verbruggen needed to make a double stop to prevent West Ham from taking the lead with just under an hour gone. The Dutch goalkeeper had to be at full stretch to deny Jarrod Bowen before then reacting quickly to keep Crys Summerville's effort out.
The deadlock was eventually broken in the 73rd minute. Substitute Callum Wilson's pass looked to have been a tad overhit for Bowen but the forward somehow managed to latch on the end of it and finish from a tight angle.
Fabian Hürzeler's team had plenty of the ball throughout the game but struggled to manage any efforts on target until late in the game, including the equaliser.
Alphonse Aréola had made a couple of good saves for his side before Georginio Rutter was able to squeeze an effort in just as the game entered stoppage time.
The Seagulls were forced to wait for confirmation though as VAR checked for a potential handball but eventually the goal stood.
That result sees Brighton move up to seventh while West Ham remain in the relegation zone but move closer to Nottingham Forest.
