Ryan Mason is coming under increased pressure as West Brom manager.
West Brom manager Ryan Mason is coming under growing pressure to keep hold of his job.
The Baggies entered the 2025/26 campaign full of promise, with former Spurs coach Mason entrusted as the man to lead them forward into the future after four seasons outside of the Premier League.
This is the 34-year-old’s first full-time job as a first-team manager, and with that, a lack of experience has been evident at times.
West Brom have won just twice in their last 10 Championship outings, with six losses also included in that run.
Poor form such as this has led to the Black Country outfit slipping into the Championship’s mid-table, and increased pressure coming upon Mason from supporters.
With calls for West Brom to make a managerial change growing ever louder, Football League World have taken a look at three candidates the Baggies could be looking at to replace Mason...

If West Brom are looking to make a managerial change, bringing back a familiar face who was successful at the Hawthorns could be a very good idea.
Carlos Corberán joined the Baggies in October 2022, transforming a team that sat 23rd in the Championship at the time of his arrival, into play-off contenders.
The following 2023/24 season did end in a top-six finish, with Albion placing fifth in the second tier with a 75-point haul, although Corberán and Co. were defeated by Southampton in the play-off semi-finals.
The 42-year-old swapped the Black Country for Valencia last December, but is under pressure and could soon lose his job with the Spanish giants as they currently sit in the La Liga relegation zone.
This would open the door for a romantic return to the Hawthorns.
Corberán has previously shown that he knows how to take an underperforming West Brom team and turn them into play-off contenders, an experience that would be greatly appreciated at this moment in time.

Much like Corberán, Michael Carrick has experience of taking a club languishing towards the bottom of the Championship and turning them into play-off contenders.
The former Manchester United and England midfielder did this during his first term in charge at the Riverside, but failed to finish in the top six during the following two seasons and subsequently parted ways with Boro this summer.
Carrick has solid experience of the division and knows exactly how to reignite a dressing room that had underachieved, making him a strong candidate to take over from Mason if he receives his marching orders.
The 44-year-old also still has much to prove as a manager, and did come in for significant criticism from Boro fans over his style of play and tactical stubbornness, which means that there would be added motivation on both sides to make this partnership a successful one.

If West Brom are willing to take more of a gamble with their next appointment, that could come in the form of Alex Revell.
The 42-year-old has impressed massively during his second stint as Stevenage manager, with his side looking to be amongst League One’s most competitive this term.
The Boro sit just two points behind league leaders Stockport County at this moment in time ahead of their clash with Reading on Thursday night, having played two games fewer, which highlights Revell’s ability to lead a team into the promotion fight against the odds.
He would enjoy significantly more backing at West Brom and have more talented operators to bring his vision to life, which could directly translate to even better results.
If the Baggies want to take a chance on an up-and-coming manager in fine form, Revell could most certainly be the man to replace Mason.
