Sacha Boey has rejoined Galatasaray on loan from Bayern Munich for the rest of the 2025/26 season, the clubs confirmed. The French full-back returns to Rams Park two years after his €30m move to the Bundesliga side.
Galatasaray said in a statement that the deal is a straight loan with a non-mandatory purchase option that can be activated this summer with the club’s written consent. The statement added Bayern will receive a €500,000 loan fee and Boey will earn a net €1.75m for the remainder of the campaign.
Boey was signed by Thomas Tuchel in January 2024 amid a defensive injury crisis but struggled for minutes due to fitness setbacks. A recent gastrointestinal illness kept him out for nearly a month.
The move comes as Vincent Kompany reshapes Bayern’s squad, and his exit trims the defensive pool. Konrad Laimer and Josip Stanišić are on the way back from injury, while Tom Bischof has covered at full-back despite being a midfielder.
For Galatasaray, it is a return to familiar ground for a player who delivered some of his best football in İstanbul. Across his first two-and-a-half years, he made 63 appearances, more than at any other club. With the champions chasing domestic honours in Türkiye’s Süper Lig, Boey brings energy and intensity as he looks to rediscover rhythm and prove his value.
