According to Voetbal International, FC Twente’s Michal Sadílek hopes to move on this summer. The 25-year-old Czech is in his fourth season in Enschede and believes the time has come for the next step. While there is interest from top Czech clubs, the midfielder himself prefers a different European challenge.

Initially, Sadílek wanted to embark on a new adventure a year ago. However, a serious bike accident threw a spanner in the works. Not only did he miss the Euro 2024 tournament because of it, he was also absent at the start of this season.

Although he extended his contract in December, he hopes to leave Enschede soon. “I didn’t want to leave Twente on a free transfer, as some people claimed. It’s great that we found each other in that contract extension. But now the time is ripe for me to take a step.”

In the meantime, Sadílek hopes to secure European football with FC Twente in the play-offs, and end his period with the Tukkers on a high. “I’ve had a great time here, Twente is the best club in my career so far. We are close to the border with Germany, you can also taste that intense football culture here. The club is in my heart, the region too, the people here.”

Sadílek (who reportedly has a 3.5 million euros release clause in his contract) is coveted by Slavia and Sparta Prague, but is not yet aiming for a return to the Czech Republic. Clubs from the Bundesliga, Belgium and Greece are also courting his services.

“I have been in the Netherlands for nine years now, with a stopover of one season”, he refers to a loan period at Slovan Liberec during his time at PSV.

“I think it is good for me to go to another competition. I think Germany, Italy and Spain are the best options for me. My dream is to play in a top-five competition in any case, hopefully, I will succeed this summer.”
