Alexis Saelemaekers admits that he’d be glad to stay at Milan in 2025-26, but he has yet to speak with new coach Massimiliano Allegri: ‘We’ll see.’
The Belgian winger spent the last season on loan at Roma, while Giallorossi-owned striker Tammy Abraham wore the Rossoneri shirt for 2024-25.
However, the two clubs have not reached an agreement over permanent transfers, so both players will return to their parent clubs.

“It’s been a good season for me; I’m very happy. Now I am a Milan player as the loan at Roma has ended,” Saelemaekers said at a press conference with the Belgium national team via Calciomercato.com.
The 25-year-old scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 32 appearances across all competitions in 2024-25. His contract at San Siro expires in June 2027.
“We’ll see what the future holds. I haven’t had any contact with the new coach yet. I’ve always enjoyed playing for Milan. I felt good there,” Saelemaekers added.

“The most important thing for me now is to find a project where I can continue to grow and where I can play. Where that will be, we’ll find out soon. Staying at Milan is an option I like, and it’s up to me to prove something to the new coach.
“I’ll talk to Allegri and we’ll see. The role isn’t a problem. As long as I feel trusted, I can adapt.”
Saelemaekers has already won one Serie A title with Milan, lifting the Scudetto in the 2021-22 campaign.
He has collected ten goals and 14 assists in 141 games across all competitions with the Rossoneri.
The 25-year-old made his senior international debut for Belgium in October 2020 and has scored one goal in 14 appearances with his national team.
