Saidou Alioum leaves Hammarby for IFK Göteborg
It's now official: Saidou Alioum is switching sides in the Allsvenskan. The young Cameroonian winger, 21, signed with IFK Göteborg on Tuesday, joining from Hammarby.
"My first impressions are extremely positive. I'm very happy to be here," the player said in a club statement. Having joined Hammarby at the start of 2023, Saidou Alioum was then loaned out twice to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus, where he stood out for his ability to break through in the final third. His new contract with IFK Göteborg runs for four seasons.
The club's sporting director, Hannes Stiller, expressed his excitement:
Saidou has great explosiveness, he's not afraid to take initiative and loves to play in behind. He can operate in several attacking roles, and his qualities fit perfectly with our style of play. We've tracked him closely both in Sweden and Cyprus. He arrives with the right mentality and a genuine desire to improve.
With this signing, IFK Göteborg—currently seventh after 13 league rounds—hopes to boost their attacking efficiency in the second half of the season.
