Southampton have been cleared to wear their yellow anniversary strip in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley on 25 April.
According to Sainstmarching.com, the FA has granted special dispensation for the kit, which is not usually permitted for a semi-final. It is an exact replica of the strip worn in the 1976 final.
The yellow kit has featured in every round so far, at Doncaster Rovers in the third round, Leicester City in the fourth, away at Fulham in the fifth, then at home to Arsenal in the quarter-final.
That 1976 triumph at the old Wembley saw Southampton beat Manchester United, Bobby Stokes striking in the 83rd minute to deliver the FA Cup against the odds.
Saints have also been allocated the West side of Wembley. The last time their support filled that end was the 2024 play-off final win over Leeds United.
Tonda Eckert's side are on a 15-match unbeaten run and the focus remains on tactics, shape, discipline and execution. Fans, though, sense momentum and the yellow shirts connect past and present.
