Mo Salah scored a double to send Egypt to next year’s World Cup in North America.
The Liverpool forward netted twice in his nation’s 3-0 win over Djibouti on Wednesday to book Egypt’s place at the tournament.
His two goals also mean he has become the leading scorer in African World Cup qualifying history, with a total of 20 goals.
He has surpassed the likes of Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o in doing so.
Egypt did not make the 2022 World Cup but did reach the tournament in 2018, though Salah was impacted by a shoulder injury during that summer.
He will be hoping to further cement his legacy as one of the top forwards of his generation this time around, however.
