Salah Gets 9, Jones With 8 | Liverpool Players Rated In Impressive Win Vs Brighton

Liverpool entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win at home in the FA Cup. The Reds made a bright start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 42nd minute thanks to Curtis Jones’ controlled finish. Arne Slot’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Dominik Szoboszlai doubled his team’s advantage with a great finish in the 56th minute. Mohamed Salah killed the game off from the penalty spot in the 68th minute. The match finished with the Reds securing an impressive 3-0 win at Anfield.
Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player fared during the clash against the Seagulls.
He made a few solid saves during the game and did enough to keep a clean sheet.
RB: Curtis Jones – 8/10
He performed his defensive duties well and scored a great goal to give Liverpool the lead.
CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7/10
Konate was a rock at the back and would be quite pleased with the clean sheet.
CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 7.5/10
He dealt with the danger when required and was a strong presence in the air.

LB: Milos Kerkez – 8/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch and ended the game with an assist to his name.
CM: Dominik Szoboszlai – 8/10
Szoboszlai worked hard on both halves and doubled his side’s lead with a good finish.
CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 8/10
He anchored the midfield well and ran the show inside the Brighton half.
RW: Mohamed Salah – 9/10
Salah was back to his best tonight as he caused a lot of headaches for the opppositon defenders. He has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.
CAM: Florian Wirtz – 6.5/10
Wirtz caught the eye at times in the final third, but there was no goal for him.
LW: Cody Gakpo – 7/10
He was always willing to run with the ball but lacked quality in front of the Brighton goal.
ST: Federico Chiesa – 6.5/10
Chiesa ran the channels well but never looked like he would score.
Substitutes:
RB: Joe Gomez – 6/10
He was solid at the back.
LW: Rio Ngumoha – 6/10
Ngumoha made one positive run with the ball and had a goal chalked off as he was offside.
