Samson Baidoo suffered a left hamstring injury around the hour as Lens lost 0-2 to PSG at Bollaert, nine days before the Coupe de France final against Nice.

The Austrian went down without contact, clutching the back of his thigh, and captain Adrien Thomasson signalled for treatment. According to L'Équipe, Baidoo walked off but was visibly distressed and will be assessed on Thursday morning.

Wesley Saïd said the squad sensed his disappointment, while Pierre Sage said they would do everything possible to have him available against Nice. The setback also disrupts Sage’s plan to manage minutes before Saint-Denis.

Baidoo had only just returned from an 11-match hamstring lay-off and was making his sixth straight appearance. Without him Lens had slowed in Ligue 1, something Sage had already underlined given the defender’s front-foot style.

If he is absent, options alongside Ismaëlo Ganiou and Malang Sarr include Arthur Masuaku at left centre-back, 18-year-old Kyllian Antonio who replaced him against Paris, or a recall for Nidal Celik. Sage said it appeared to be a different hamstring from last time, although that was not confirmed, and he remains hopeful of having Baidoo in Saint-Denis.
