A major blow for Samu Aghehowa, the 21-year-old Porto striker. The Portuguese club has confirmed that the player has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the match against Sporting.

The young Spaniard will undergo further examinations in the coming days, but the severity of the injury suggests a lengthy spell on the sidelines. According to the newspaper A Bola, Aghehowa could miss most of the 2026/2027 season, putting his participation in this summer's World Cup in jeopardy.
Samu Aghehowa, who has had an outstanding season with 20 goals in 32 matches, leaves a huge gap in Porto's attack and for the Spanish national team.
