Santos have told midfielder Sandry he is not in their plans for the season and have allowed him to seek a new club, with no date set for a return, according to Diario Do Peixe.

The 22-year-old is resisting loan proposals, wants a chance to convince coach Vojvoda and prefers to keep training even if he remains outside the staff's plans.

His deal runs to May and can be extended to November. He spent last year on loan at Athletic, delivering three assists in 31 games. He had been training apart under Pedro Caixinha and rejected Mirassol, who later enjoyed a surprise Série A campaign.

In 2024 he made 12 appearances with one assist in Série B. He returned in June in a 3-1 defeat to Novorizontino at Jorge de Ismael, his first match since a left ACL injury in training on 10 August 2023.

Born in 2002, Sandry came through Santos' academy and debuted in a 4-1 win at Red Bull Bragantino at Nabi Abi Chedid in the Campeonato Paulista on 31 January 2019. He has 106 senior games and four assists for the club.

He suffered a right ACL rupture in April 2021 during training and returned in November for that season's Brasileirão. In February 2023 he sustained facial fractures against Portuguesa and required surgery, then an infection delayed his comeback until June. Two months later he injured his left ACL.
