Ricardo Pacheco, president of Santa Clara and administrator of SAD, has already reacted to the elimination from the Portuguese Cup against Sporting – a match marked by a controversial penalty. “Today is one of the saddest days in Portuguese football,” he stated in a social media post.

Vasco Matos, coach of Santa Clara, also expressed severe criticism towards the refereeing: “Today is a dark day for Portuguese football. I am concerned and many people are worried about what has been happening.”
