Santos cancel autograph session with idols amid poor Brasileirão form | OneFootball

Santos have cancelled an autograph session with former players and club idols, citing the team’s poor Brasileirão form.

The event had been scheduled for Thursday at 18:30 at the Netshoes store in Galeria Magalu on Avenida Paulista.

Giovanni, Ricardo Oliveira, Edu, midfielder Thaisinha and forwards Robinho Jr and Kauan Basile were due to sign autographs.

Attendance was to be capped at the first 100 arrivals and promote sales of the new kit. The club said in a social media post that the evening would be rearranged, adding it was not the right moment and that a new date would follow.

The shirt remains on sale through Santos Store outlets, the club’s online shop and Umbro’s website.

After the defeat to Internacional at the Vila, the club dismissed coach Vojvoda and agreed the return of Cuca, a move that drew negative reaction on social media.

Santos are the first team above the relegation zone on six points and have not won for almost a month. Their record stands at one win, three draws and three defeats, with 10 scored and 13 conceded.
