Santos in Pot 1 as CONMEBOL sets Sudamericana draw seedings | OneFootball

CONMEBOL has set the pots for the Copa Sudamericana draw, with Santos in Pot 1.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the draw is on Thursday 19 March at 20:00 on CONMEBOL’s YouTube channel. Pot 1 also features Atlético-MG, River Plate, São Paulo, Racing, Grêmio, Olimpia and America de Cali.

Pot 2 contains Red Bull Bragantino, São Lorenzo, Palestino, Millonarios, Caracas, Vasco, Tigre and Cienciano. Pot 3 includes Audax Italiano, Blooming, Puerto Cabello, Boston River, City Torque, Deportivo Cuenca, Independiente and Macará.

Pot 4 is Alianza Atlético, Barracas, Deportivo Riestra, Recoleta, Juventud, O’Higgins, Carabobo and Botafogo.

The group stage has 32 clubs in eight groups of four, 16 direct entrants and 16 from the first phase. Seeds follow the CONMEBOL Club Ranking, with Pots 2 and 3 the next-ranked teams, and Pot 4 comprising Libertadores dropouts plus four more by ranking. Teams from the same country cannot share a group, unless one dropped from the Libertadores preliminaries.

Each club plays home and away against group opponents. Group winners go straight to the round of 16, runners-up enter play-offs for the last 16. Key dates: rounds 1 to 6 run from 7 April to 28 May, play-offs 21 to 30 July, last 16 11 to 20 August, quarter-finals 8 to 17 September, semi-finals 13 to 21 October, final on 21 November.
