Neymar’s selection for the 2026 World Cup brings a financial lift for Santos, with FIFA’s Club Benefits Programme paying about US$ 11,000 per day per player, roughly R$ 55,000 at the current rate.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the calculation covers every day the player is officially on national-team duty, including training camps, warm-up friendlies and World Cup matches.

Even with a group-stage exit, the minimum estimate is around US$ 250,000 per called-up player, rising with a deeper run. On that basis, Santos could receive more than R$ 1 million from Neymar’s involvement even if his national team go out early.

The payment is not reserved solely for the current club, with FIFA also distributing a portion to teams the player represented in the two years before the tournament.

The Club Benefits Programme was formalised at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa as part of an agreement between FIFA and the European Club Association, recognising the role of clubs in developing and preparing players.

Neymar returned to Santos in January 2025 and has since made 45 competitive appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing nine assists.
