According to Globo.com, Santos unveiled a Neymar bust at the Memorial das Conquistas inside Vila Belmiro on Thursday.
The space also features a statue and an autographed shirt. The plinth lists his honours with Santos, the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Campeonato Paulista titles, the 2010 Copa do Brasil and the 2011 Conmebol Libertadores.
Neymar said being part of the memorial is a major honour. He recalled visiting Vila Belmiro as a child and said academy players dreamed of one day earning recognition like this.
He noted he already had other tributes there but regards this as especially meaningful. Calling Santos his boyhood club and home, he said it was a gift for his Santos-supporting family and that he hopes to keep making fans happy.
The plaque also references his Brazil career, presenting it as the immortalisation of a successful journey. Club president Marcelo Teixeira said they are preserving the name of the national team’s current record scorer, who played at four World Cups and wore the number 10. He added the tribute is more than a tourist stop and a deserved acknowledgement of Neymar’s path.
On Tuesday, after the win over Universidad Central of Venezuela, Neymar confirmed he will no longer represent Brazil, stressing his time with the national team has passed despite giving everything. He has 277 games and 158 goals for Santos, and is the club’s ninth-highest scorer.
