São Paulo beat Grêmio in the Women’s Brasileirão

This Monday (20), São Paulo defeated Grêmio 3-1 at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia (SP), in a match valid for the 7th round of the Brazilian Women’s Championship. The goals for Tricolor were scored by Robinha, B. Calderan, and Isa.

São Paulo started the first half at a fast pace. In the very first minute, after a loose ball outside the box, Robinha finished accurately to open the scoring for Tricolor. Maintaining control, the team kept creating chances and, in the 7th minute, from an attempted pass by Crivelari, Isa got a slight touch on the ball, which found B. Calderan well positioned to extend the lead. Tricolor kept the advantage throughout the first half and went into the break leading 2-0.

In the second half, in the 3rd minute, the opposing team managed to cut the deficit, scoring their only goal of the match. However, São Paulo responded quickly: in the 8th minute, after an error in Grêmio’s defense, Clara recovered the ball and delivered a precise cross to Isa, who appeared at the far post to finish into the back of the net. Tricolor sealed the win and closed out the match with a 3-1 scoreline.

With the win, São Paulo now has 16 points in the Brazilian Championship, with 5 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. The team has also scored 12 goals and conceded 5 so far.

The women’s team’s next match will be against América-MG on Monday (27), at 6 p.m., at Independência, in Belo Horizonte (MG), for the eighth round of the Brasileirão. The match will be broadcast by N Sports.
