São Paulo lose forward Paulinho before Flamengo opener | OneFootball

São Paulo will be without forward Paulinho for Wednesday’s Brasileirão opener against Flamengo at Morumbis after a knee ligament strain.

According to Coluna Do Fla, he played in Sunday’s Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior final against Cruzeiro, then reported knee pain, with Monday’s assessment diagnosing a ligament strain.

Consequently, he misses the game. Hernán Crespo, however, has Nicolas and Pedro Ferreira back after the Copinha final, meaning the left-back and the midfielder are available on Wednesday.

For Flamengo, Filipe Luís began preparations on Monday at Ninho do Urubu. The expectation is for a more complete squad, and Tuesday’s session will be crucial to settle the travelling list.

Kick-off is at 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday 28, at Morumbis. The match will be broadcast on Globo, SporTV, GETV on YouTube and Premiere.
