São Paulo’s public prosecutors have asked a court to order former Corinthians president Andrés Sanchez to wear an electronic tag.

According to Globo.com, the Ministério Público de São Paulo also wants his Spanish passport seized and records of calls made to and from his mobile between 30 December 2025 and 25 February 2026.

Prosecutor Cássio Conserino based the request on an alleged breach of precautionary measures. Corinthians secretary general Antônio Jorge Rachid told prosecutors he received a call from Sanchez on 30 January and said the former president contacted him frequently.

Since late last year, the court has imposed several restrictions on Sanchez, including a ban on communicating with the club’s directors.

Those measures were set amid a case in which prosecutors accuse him of using Corinthians’ corporate card for personal expenses. More than 200 purchases were identified from August 2018 to February 2021, totalling about R$ 581,000 in updated values, Conserino says.

Sanchez became a defendant on a misappropriation charge late last year. Proceedings were stayed in December after prosecutors sought the recusal of judge Marcia Mayumi Okoda Oshiro over links to defence lawyer Fernando José da Costa, who coordinates a course at the same college where the judge teaches. The São Paulo Court of Justice ruled there was no suspicion.

In a statement, Sanchez’s defence lamented learning of the request via the media and called the measures disproportionate. It argued Corinthians has never confirmed any irregularity with the card and said it will take the necessary legal steps to prevent such orders.
