São Paulo host Botafogo in the Brasileirão on Saturday, 23 May 2026 at MorumBIS, with the hosts defending a top four place and the visitors looking to build on recent momentum.
São Paulo sit fourth on 24 points, while Botafogo arrive ninth with 21. The hosts also edged the last league meeting at home in 2025. Both sides have continental qualification in view, from Copa Libertadores (hosts) to Sudamericana (visitors).
Tricolor Paulista's recent run has been patchy, with two draws and three defeats across their last five games. By contrast, the Glorioso have won three of their last five, including back to back victories over Corinthians and Independiente.
Soberano are without suspended trio Enzo Diaz, André Silva and Damián Bobadilla, with Lucas Moura and Rafael Tolói among the injured. Fogão travel missing suspended Alex Telles, Cristian Medina and Mateo Ponte, while Júnior Santos and Matheus Martins are on a longer injury list.
At MorumBIS, Soberano have been notably secure, conceding five goals in seven league home matches. Fogão have been more open on the road, scoring 14 and conceding 16 away, yet they carry threat with 29 league goals overall. This could tilt towards the hosts' home solidity against the visitors' punchy attack.
A win would move Tricolor Paulista to 27 points and could further cement their Copa Libertadores group stage position. Three points for the Glorioso would take them to 24 and could lift them towards the top six while strengthening their Sudamericana push.
