Saud Abdulhamid burglary in Amsterdam delays World Cup preparations with Saudi Arabia | OneFootball

Saud Abdulhamid, RC Lens right wing-back on loan from AS Roma, was robbed in Amsterdam while attending a family wedding, delaying his arrival at Saudi Arabia’s national team camp for the 2026 World Cup.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation said in a statement that his car and personal items, including his passport, were stolen. It is working with the Ministry of Sports to follow the investigation and with the Saudi embassy in the Netherlands to issue the documents needed for him to join the squad, while offering its full support and hoping for his safe arrival.

Abdulhamid recently lifted the Coupe de France with Lens after a 3-1 win over Nice. This season he has played 31 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing eight assists.

He is named in an extended 30-man group for Saudi Arabia’s World Cup build-up, with the tournament scheduled from 11 June to 19 July.

Saudi Arabia begin Group H against Uruguay on 16 June at midnight, then face Spain on 21 June at 18:00 and Cape Verde on 27 June at 2:00.
