Sekhukhune halt Chiefs' impressive start

Sekhukhune United have ended Kaizer Chiefs’ unbeaten run in the Betway Premiership after claiming a 3-1 victory at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Babina Noko broke the deadlock through prolific forward Bradley Grobler four minutes from the first whistle, before Flavio Silva leveled matters nine minutes later with his second Amakhosi goal in as many appearances.

Eric Tinkler’s men picked up from where they left off in the second stanza as Grobler completed his brace in the 50th minute, while Thabang Monare rounded up the second five minutes later.

As a result, Sekhukhune moved to the summit of the table with 16 points accumulated, two ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns and three points more than third-placed Chiefs.

Meanwhile, for the Soweto giants their unbeaten has come to an end and have conceded their first goals of the 2025/26 campaign.

Elsewhere, Chippa United snapped a four-game losing streak with a hard-fought 2-1 win at the expense of newly promoted Orbit College, who have now lost four games on the trot.

The Chilli Boys moved from the bottom of the table as Mswenko Boys slotted into the relegation position after six matches played.

In the other match, Siwelele FC extended their winless streak to five games after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Durban City, who moved up to fourth place.
