Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola insists Antoine Semenyo has not played his last game for the club despite reports he is set to join Manchester City.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage as City look to activate the winger’s £65 million and sign him in the January transfer window.
City are also reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Semenyo, who has registered nine goals and three assists in the Premier League this season.
The 25-year-old appeared to be waving goodbye to the Cherries fans after helping the side earn a point away to Chelsea on Tuesday evening.
Iraola, however, said that Semenyo “will still be with us”, suggesting the player will not be moving clubs until after their next game. They play Arsenal at home on 3 January 2026.
“He is a massive player for us and he will still be with us. It is not the last game he has played for us,” he told BBC Match of the Day.
Semenyo’s long throw-ins created havoc in the Chelsea box and played a big part in both of Bournemouth’s goals in a 2-2 draw.
David Brooks scrambled home an early opener, but it was cancelled out by a Cole Palmer penalty after Semenyo fouled Estevao Willian in the box.
Enzo Fernandez put the Blues ahead in the 23rd minute but Bournemouth levelled matters shortly after Justin Kluivert tapped in from close range.
It’s a massive point for Bournemouth, who have not won in the league since late October, but Iraola believes his team deserved more from the game.
“It is happening a lot for us,” he said. “We are having games we feel we have had a good performance. We played a really good first half, it was a little disappointing to finish the first half 2-2 as we had five or six clear chances.
“We had the clearer chances. It is not a point you think we have survived and found a point here at Stamford Bridge, it was not like this.
“Key moments have not gone to our side. I am very proud of the performance of the players, I saw everyone fighting for their lives. We have to continue with these performances and try not to concede all these goals.”
