In an unprecedented turn for continental football, the Confederation of African Football has declared Morocco as the new champion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, stripping Senegal of their title.
The Appeals Committee decided to annul the original result of the final in played in January after upholding the appeal filed by the Moroccan federation against Senegal.

The resolution is based on the application of articles 82 and 84 of the regulations. The CAF ruled that Senegal players leaving the pitch in protest before the full-time whistle constituted a serious infringement, declaring their defeat by administrative "no-show."
The official score of the match has been set at 3-0 in favour of Morocco, awarding them the title months after the match.
It is yet to be revealed if Senegal can appeal this ruling and fight to retain the title they believe they won on the pitch.
For now however, Morocco will add a second AFCON title to their cabinet, their first since winning the 1976 edition of the tournament.
