Fiorentina earned a big victory away to Bologna with Rolando Mandragora and Roberto Piccoli, dedicating it to President Rocco Commisso.
There was a sombre mood in the Viola camp following the death of President Commisso on Saturday, but his family wanted the team to play as scheduled in his honour. A minute’s silence was held before every Serie A match this weekend.
Moise Kean, Edin Dzeko and Tariq Lamptey were injured, with coach Paolo Vanoli sitting out a touchline ban. The Rossoblu finally ended their negative streak with victory over Verona on Thursday, and welcomed Niccolò Cambiaghi back from suspension after his ban was halved, with Jhon Lucumi and Federico Bernardeschi sidelined. Martin Vitik pulled out in the warm-up, replaced by Nicolò Casale.

Torbjorn Heggem charged down a Fabiano Parisi effort inside the area, then the Viola had the ball in the net on 17 minutes with Cher Ndour sweeping in the Dodo pull-back from just inside the area, but it was disallowed for Parisi’s offside in the build-up.
Moments later, Fiorentina did take the lead, as Albert Gudmundsson flashed a ball across from the left for Rolando Mandragora, who reacted quicker than two Bologna players to tap in from six yards. He ran to the touchline to celebrate with a special shirt bearing Commisso’s name.

Parisi also drilled onto the side-netting, while a ferocious long-range Mandragora curler flashed wide of the far post and Federico Ravaglia took the sting out of Nicolò Fagioli’s strike.
On the stroke of half-time, Dodo went on the counter from his own penalty area and rolled across from the right for Roberto Piccoli, who made the most of a ricochet off Remo Freuler to slide in from point-blank range. It was initially flagged offside, but a long VAR check showed Heggem’s foot was keeping him on.

Vincenzo Italiano was so unhappy with the first half performance that he made four changes for the restart, but they still risked conceding again with Marin Pongracic’s dinked finish on the counter-attack testing Ravaglia.
Parisi went off injured in the final stages, but Bologna barely managed to test David De Gea in a surprisingly sluggish performance, just a Giovanni Fabbian header straight at the goalkeeper.
The hosts did finally create a real scoring opportunity on 85 minutes when Jonathan Rowe turned Marco Brescianini for a left-foot curler that bounced off the inside of the far post.
They got a goal back when Fagioli was too weak playing out from the back, allowing Rowe to whip in a cross for the Fabbian header into the top corner.
It was too late to complete the comeback, as Santiago Castro and Rowe couldn’t keep headers down, while there was a mad scramble in stoppages, but it means Bologna are without a home victory in Serie A since November 2025.
Mandragora 19 (F), Piccoli 45 (F), Fabbian 88 (B)
