Former Leeds United loanee Djed Spence is reportedly being considered by Serie A champions Inter Milan after a €30 million (£25.6m) alternative fell through.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter want a new wing-back after their move for Union Saint-Gilloise’s Anan Khalaili collapsed following a failed medical. Spence could be an option, though any deal may be costly given his form.
Spence’s Elland Road stint in summer 2023, under 49ers Enterprises, was cut short in January 2024 via a break clause after only seven appearances. A six-month spell at Bologna did little to change his fortunes.
Back at Tottenham, the 25-year-old has since played 55 Premier League matches, starting 42, and earned an England call-up for this summer’s World Cup. He has often come off the bench across the Atlantic, including in wins over Mexico and Norway.
Inter are not alone. The Athletic reported last week that Everton are interested as they consider replacements for Seamus Coleman, who left at the end of his contract this summer.
Daniel Farke later explained that ending Spence’s Leeds loan was a club decision and stressed the full-back’s potential, highlighting his major part in a win at Ipswich. He wished Spence well and avoided criticising him.
