Serie A | Cremonese 0-0 Parma: Seahorses still unbeaten despite scare

Cremonese maintain their unbeaten record so far this term, but Parma had the best chance in this goalless draw when hitting the woodwork.

The Seahorses were still unbeaten this season after wins over Milan and Sassuolo, then a draw at Verona, but Jamie Vardy and Martin Payero were on the treatment table. The Ducali scraped one point from three rounds, with Hernani and Lautaro Valenti joining long-term absentees Jacob Ondrejka and Matija Frigan.

Parma had a huge chance in the opening nine minutes when Mateo Pellegrino’s towering header on an Emanuele Valeri cross from the right thumped the top of the upright from seven yards.

Cremonese were forced into an early change when Michele Collocolo pulled up mid-sprint clutching the top of his left thigh and it is easy to suspect he could be out for a while.

Pellegrino also tested Emil Audero on a Patrick Cutrone lay-off, while the Cremonese goalkeeper got down at full stretch to fingertip an Adrian Bernabé effort round the post.

Sorensen failed to keep the rebound on target after an Audero punch, while Enrico Delprato’s angled drive was parried with difficulty at the base of the near post.

Moumbagna thought he had scored when getting his head to a cross from a short corner, only for it to be charged down by teammate Federico Baschirotto in the six-yard box.

Zion Suzuki misjudged the Franco Vasquez cross-shot and had to scramble back to fingertip it out from under the crossbar.
