It was eventually decided on Thursday that it would kick off at the unusual time of midday local, much to the anger of Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri.

Roma go into the penultimate round in joint fourth place with Milan. Koné sustained a muscular issue in training yesterday and is therefore not even on the bench.

Instead, Neil El Aynaoui drops into a deeper role, leaving Niccolà Pisilli and Paulo Dybala upfront in support of hitman Malen.

Lorenzo Pellegrini and Artem Dovbyk are back in the squad, but not fully fit after several months out of action.

Bryan Zaragoza and Evan Ferguson remain on the treatment table.

Lazio were beaten 2-0 here on Wednesday by Inter in the Coppa Italia Final, which means they will again fail to qualify for Europe.

To make things even worse, fresh injuries were reported for Mattia Zaccagni and Edoardo Motta.

With Ivan Provedel already out for the season, it means third-choice goalkeeper Furlanetto must make his Serie A debut, with the 24-year-old’s last competitive game being in Serie C on loan at Fermana in March 2024.

Patric and Samuel Gigot are not fully fit either, while Alessio Romagnoli is suspended after his red card against Inter, so Oliver Provstgaard steps in.

Boulaye Dia, Tijjani Noslin and Matteo Cancellieri form the trident attack, with Pedro on the bench.
