Nico Paz has emerged as Como’s best player since joining the Italian outfit from Real Madrid back in the summer of 2024.

Such has been the youngster’s development that he is courting interest from top clubs across Europe. However, everything suggests that the Argentine talent will be returning home to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Indeed, Real Madrid plan on re-signing their former academy graduate from Como in the summer of 2026, thanks to their buyback clause inserted in the initial agreement with the Serie A club.

Personal terms between the footballer and the club are understood to be as good as agreed at this point.

Nico Paz on Real Madrid return

Speaking in a recent interview with Sport Italia (h/t AS), Nico Paz opted to stay quiet about the speculations about him returning to Real Madrid next year, insisting that his full focus was on doing well at Como.

“I’m not thinking about it, I’m just focused on playing. I try to do my best,” the La Fabrica graduate stated about the rumours.

Meanwhile, Nico had words of praise for Como manager Cesc Fabregas, who has had a big hand in his development in Italy over the past 18 months or so.

“He’s the best. He’s a great coach. He’s the most important one in my career. He’s helping me and the team grow a lot, and I’m very happy to be with him,” said the youngster.

While he may have opted to stay quiet on the matter, multiple reliable sources have reported that Real Madrid are planning next season with Nico in their mind.

The 21-year-old creative midfielder left Real Madrid after making only eight senior appearances, in which he scored one goal.

So far this term, Nico has registered five goals and assists each from 15 Serie A appearances for Como.
