Michael Carrick says he is delighted for Benjamin Sesko after the striker’s late winner against Fulham.
United were two goals ahead at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Casemiro and Matheus Cunha, before a Raul Jimenez penalty and a late stunner from Kevin levelled the score.
But moments after Kevin’s equaliser, Sesko fired into the top corner to make it three wins from three games in charge for Carrick.
“Huge moment,” Carrick said. “So, so pleased, everyone in the changing room – players, staff, delighted for him. Absolutely delighted for him.
“The reception he got when he went back into the changing room told us everything.
“It wasn’t so much his confidence. He’s been fantastic. We’ve worked with him a lot over the last couple of weeks. He’s been bright in training, he’s done extra, the coaches have done a lot with him.
“Ben’s a big talent. He’s got so many positive things. Today, is a huge goal because as a striker you’re here to score a winner in front of the Stretford End late like that. It’s kind of what you dream of really.
“After missing a chance, to go again and put that away, so, so pleased for him. He really deserves it.”
