FC Bayern have apparently suffered a setback in their pursuit of a talented attacking player, who has apparently decided to move to England

FC Bayern have repeatedly been linked with Said El Mala over the past few months. The Munich club had been keeping a close eye on the shooting star of 1. FC Köln and were long considered one of the interested parties for a possible transfer

Now, however, the German record champions are facing a setback in the transfer poker

As reported by Sport BILD and BILD, the player’s side has already decided in favor of another club. According to the report, the 19-year-old’s parents, who have since taken over the consultation, have given Premier League club Brighton their „go“ for a transfer

Brighton want to close the deal quickly

The English club is reportedly working flat out to sign the attacking player, having already rejected an offer of up to 30 million euros in January

According to the report, a transfer fee of around 35 million euros plus bonus payments and a share in a possible resale are being discussed

The transfer also appears to be well advanced on the player side, with El Mala potentially earning around €20 million at Brighton over the next five years – including performance-related bonuses

An additional factor: Brighton are also interested in signing El Mala’s brother Malek, while other clubs such as Chelsea and Newcastle are said to be focusing exclusively on Said El Mala

Bayern will probably come away empty-handed in the transfer poker

This development is a clear setback for FC Bayern, who had the U21 international on their radar as an exciting attacking talent and were repeatedly linked with a possible transfer

El Mala is one of the most eye-catching players at 1. FC Köln and recently scored his ninth goal of the season in the 1:1 draw in Hamburg. Despite the club’s difficult sporting situation, the attacking player has been able to play his way into the spotlight
