Following the completion of the first round of SWPL fixtures, the first international break of the 2025/26 campaign is now upon us.
It is set to be a busy one for those of the Celtic FC Women’s squad out representing their nations, with a total of seven players away during this break.
With a number of players featuring at senior and youth level, there is a lot of action to look forward to for our Celts who are away this week.
After making her return to the Ireland international set-up last season, Saoirse Noonan was once again named in Carla Ward’s squad.
With a double-header against Belgium to look forward to, Noonan goes into the break on strong form, with five goals in her last four appearances.
She will be hoping to play her part as Ireland attempt to gain promotion to League A of the UEFA Nations League.
There is plenty of Celtic representation from a Scotland perspective across the age groups this month.
Emma Lawton continues her involvement in the senior side, with new boss Melissa Andretta giving the full-back another call-up.
Scotland travel to face Morocco, before returning to play Switzerland at East End Park next Tuesday, as they face two friendly outings.
Meanwhile, there are also two call-ups among the Scotland under-23 squad with Maria McAneny and Lisa Rodgers earning a place in Mick McArdle’s squad.
McAneny has become a regular and continues to hold down that spot after a strong start to the season, whilst Rodgers takes her place in the squad for the first time, making the step up from the under-19s.
Two players also making the step-up on the international stage are Darra Dawson and Sienna McGoldrick.
Both Academy graduates have become fully-fledged members of Elena Sadiku’s squad this campaign, earning regular minutes.
And that has seen them rewarded with a place in the Scotland under-19 side for the first time, and they will be taking on Slovakia in a double-header of friendly matches.
Finally, there is also a call-up at senior level for Amy Richardson, who has been named in the Wales international squad.
Richardson will once again join up with the group, after spending time with the squad during the summer international break.
The young defender, who has featured five times so far this season, has played her way through the age groups and will be aiming to earn her first senior cap as Wales take on Australia and Poland.
