Shauna Legge: We want to take points off everyone | OneFootball

In Lancashire, Leeds United Women took a point against Cheadle Town on their return to FA Women’s National League Division One North action, with Drew Greene converting from a corner in a 1-1 draw.

The point takes the Whites second in the league, and after the match captain Shauna Legge spoke to LUTV.

“I think we were not really at the level that we know that we are capable of, especially in that second half,” the defender said. “So, it feels a little bit disappointing, a little bit like a loss.

“But a point each is not too bad. They are a decent side, and in the grand scheme of things we will take a point.

“I was ready to be playing, getting a bit of momentum built up again. Cheadle have played a couple of games on the bounce, and we have had quite a few called off for weather. So, with that the first proper game back in a few weeks maybe it showed a little bit.

“We are just ready to get going fully again,” Legge said, speaking on the Whites’ next match against Doncaster Rovers Belles in two weeks. “Midweek under the lights, always something to look forward to.

“We have got a County Cup game before that, so we will concentrate on that first. But then in league action, we want to be taking points off everyone that we possibly can, keep going one by one. Hopefully we can get some momentum going.”
