Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s foundation has sent crucial supplies to her native Jamaica to support families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

The category five storm devastated the Caribbean in late October, with a reported 28 confirmed deaths in Jamaica alone.

It’s the strongest storm in recorded history to hit the island nation, with the Red Cross reporting in early November that over 70% of the population remained without electricity and around 6,000 were in emergency shelters.

To help support those most in need, Shaw’s foundation has gathered donations and supplies to send back to her home nation.

In an Instagram post, City and Jamaica’s record goalscorer said: “Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working to send supplies back home to support families in Jamaica affected by the recent hurricane.

“I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed. My club, my teammates, friends, and every single person who donated, packed, or helped in any way. Your kindness reminds us what real teamwork looks like, both on and off the field.

“We’ll keep doing our part to help rebuild and bring relief where it’s needed most. We may not be able to do everything, but we can all do something and together, those small acts create powerful change.”
