The wide player would have been hoping to secure a decent amount of game time at Selhurst Park last term after being retained, with his performances and record at Charlton Athletic persuading his current club to keep hold of him.

Doing extremely well at The Valley, he would have entered the 2023/24 campaign with plenty of confidence, but a hamstring tear kept him out for much of the season.

This will have frustrated the young winger, who would have seen last season as an opportunity to establish himself as a real asset at the top level.

Knowing that young players have been given a chance to shine at Selhurst Park in recent years, including Michael Olise and Adam Wharton who were both signed from EFL clubs, Rak-Sakyi will be upset not to have the chance to prove his worth to current boss Oliver Glasner.

Olise may be heading to Bayern Munich, but it's unclear whether Rak-Sakyi will benefit from that in terms of winning more game time in the English capital.

A loan exit could allow him to win more game time - and because he has already proved his worth in League One - a temporary Championship switch could be on the horizon for the 21-year-old.

Interest in Jesurun Rak-Sakyi building

The Blades are believed to be the latest team to have entered the race for Rak-Sakyi, who is thought to be attracting plenty of interest.

With takeover uncertainty remaining at Bramall Lane, United may not be able to spend a decent amount until a potential sale goes through, so they may opt to utilise the free agent and loan markets heavily.

Already using the former market to sign Jamie Shackleton, he could be one of many cheap signings for the South Yorkshire side this summer.

Rak-Sakyi is another player who could come in, potentially on loan, with Blackburn Rovers also in the mix for him.

However, the player may prefer to remain in or near the English capital, which is a boost for the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Luton Town who are keen on the winger as well.

Out of all of these teams, Luton may be the favourites to secure promotion next term, but it remains to be seen whether that will benefit them in this race.

Sheffield United would benefit from having Jesurun Rak-Sakyi at their disposal

United, who have lost some very talented and experienced players in recent times, could benefit from an injection of quality into their squad.

They have some good players at their disposal, with Gus Hamer able to contribute in the attacking third and Will Osula shining in the EFL before.

But Cameron Archer looks set to return to Aston Villa, which is a blow for United who have seen the striker impress in the second tier before.

Ben Brereton Diaz has also left following the end of his loan and Daniel Jebbison won't be able to contribute after his contract expired, so having an attacking player of Rak-Sakyi's quality would be extremely useful.

And United may not have to pay too much to bring the winger in on loan, which would be a real bonus for them.
