According to The Leeds Press, Sheffield United are leading the race to sign Leeds United teenager Harry Gray on loan, with Swansea City, Derby County and Charlton Athletic also interested.

The 17-year-old, brother of Tottenham midfielder Archie, came through the Leeds academy and made one Championship appearance, off the bench in the 6-0 win over Stoke in April last year.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Rotherham, scoring three times in 20 League One matches, and is expected to be involved in Leeds United’s pre-season programme this summer.

The next stage of his development is likely to involve more Championship minutes, although it would be a surprise if that came at Bramall Lane.

If he does move, he would join former Leeds striker Patrick Bamford, and could also line up alongside Kalvin Phillips if the midfielder can agree terms.

The report adds that Sheffield United have tracked Gray for months and believe Leeds would sanction a loan that offers regular, good-quality football. No decision has been made on his next steps as the summer unfolds.
