Sheffield Wednesday have rejected a £300,000 offer from Millwall for midfielder Svante Ingelsson.
Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Svante Ingelsson has emerged as a hot property in the Championship, with Millwall emerging as the latest club to register an interest in his services.
The Lions currently sit in the play-off places as they look to win promotion to the Premier League, and it could be a busy final few days of the window as they look to back boss Alex Neil.
A deal for Barry Bannan is at an advanced stage, with the Sheffield Wednesday captain expected to seal a switch to the Londoners before the weekend.
Bannan's impending departure from Hillsborough has marked the latest seismic blow in a season of profound difficulty both on and off-the-pitch for Henrik Pedersen, who will be hoping to make it through the mid-season window without losing many more assets.

However, Bannan may not be the only player to swap Hillsborough for The Den, as the Sheffield Star has revealed that Millwall have failed with their opening offer for in-demand star Svante Ingelsson.
The report states a bid in the region of £300,000 was submitted for the 27-year-old, and it was quickly dismissed by the Yorkshire outfit, who feel that offer is way below his true value.
Wednesday have already turned down an offer from Portsmouth for the midfielder, who is effectively under contract with the club until the summer of 2027.
Despite the Owls rejecting offers for Ingelsson, he could still leave before Monday’s deadline, with plenty of interest building in the player.
As well as Millwall and Pompey, the update claims that Derby County are also tracking the ex-Hansa Rostock man, whilst Wednesday will have to consider suitable offers as they look to raise funds as their potential takeover continues to drag on.
This is more bad news for Sheffield Wednesday, but the reality is that clubs were always going to try and take advantage of their situation.
With Ingelsson, the £300,000 offer does seem very low, as he has proven himself to be a decent Championship player since he joined the Owls in the summer of 2024.

Of course, this campaign has been very difficult, but the Swede is someone who gives his all in every game, and his work-rate and determination was always going to appeal to other clubs.
Given Wednesday’s situation, it would be no surprise if Ingelsson did depart before the deadline, even if the bottom club are right to demand a bigger fee.
So, this could be one to monitor, and whilst it may not be the most eye-catching signing of the window, whoever does pick up Ingelsson could be getting a bargain given he is a player who can do a job at this level.
