Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly eager to stay and prove himself at Old Trafford despite all the exit rumours.
The Dutchman enjoyed a splendid campaign at Bologna last term, spearheading the club’s charge towards a historic Champions League qualification. This earned him a £38m transfer to Man Utd who identified him as the right solution for their attacking woes.
However, the 23-year-old misfired under his compatriot Erik ten Hag, and his situation hardly improved with Ruben Amorim in charge.
During the club’s last fixture of 2024, he endured a nightmarish scenario when the Portuguese manager hauled him off the pitch in the middle of the first half with the team trailing 0-2 to Newcastle United, while some of the Old Trafford home crowds cheered him off while making his way out of the pitch.
Therefore, many felt that this could be the final nail in the coffin of Zirkzee’s brief spell at Carrington, especially with Juventus keen to reunite him with his old Bologna mentor Thiago Motta. However, the player has been showing a strong character and a noticeable determination to win back the supporters’ favour. The Man Utd faithful already extended an olive branch during the trip to Anfield.

According to Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Zirkzee has no desire to quit the Red Devils in January. On the contrary, he’s adamant to showcase his abilities and prove his doubters wrong.
The journalist reveals that Juventus are indeed interested in the former Bayern Munich man, but there have never been any advanced talks between the two parties.
This season, Zirkzee has scored four goals and provided two assists in 28 appearances in all competitions. But he’ll surely have to improve his stats if he wishes to gain the affection of the Old Trafford faithful.
