Arne Slot has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss Liverpool's EFL Cup final showdown with Newcastle.
Alexander-Arnold was withdrawn with a suspect ankle injury during the second half of Tuesday's Champions League last-16 exit to Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.
The England international left the pitch in visible discomfort. leading to doubts that he would be available for Sunday's Wembley encounter with Eddie Howe's side.
Slot confirmed Alexander-Arnold is facing an indeterminate period out of action but is confident Ibrahima Konaté, who also departed with an injury concern.
"Trent is not available, he won't be there," said Slot.
"He is still to be assessed but we do expect him back before for the season's end.
"Konaté, yesterday was recovery, I expect him to train with us today."
Liverpool are aiming to win the EFL Cup for a record 11th time against the Magpies.
