A significant summer transfer window awaits Southampton as they bid to return to the Premier League at the very first attempt after suffering relegation as one of the division's worst-ever sides.

Southampton's hard-earned 0-0 draw at home to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City on Saturday afternoon marked their 12th point of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, eclipsing Derby County's historic record-low points tally of just 11.

There is, however, nothing left to play for now, with the Saints having seen their fate mathematically sealed at the start of April.

With that in mind, you would suspect one eye will already be focusing on the summer plans at St Mary's, with a host of incomings and outgoings anticipated as part of the natural squad exodus that takes place in the wake of relegation.

Transfer interest in Oxford United's Tyler Goodrham

On Monday, FLW exclusively revealed Southampton's interest in Oxford United winger Tyler Goodrham alongside Coventry City and Middlesbrough.

We understand that the trio are all considering a swoop for Goodrham, who has made a name for himself at the Kassam Stadium.

The 21-year-old registered three goals and six assists in the Championship to help the U's successful survival bid under Gary Rowett, but he could be on the move this summer.

Goodrham is capable of playing on either flank or through the middle as an attacking midfielder, and could be a shrewd replacement for Tyler Dibling if he leaves.

However, his services may not come cheap as the playmaker is tied down to a "long-term contract" in Oxfordshire, and his age also means Rowett's side will surely only part with a rather handsome fee.

West Ham's Aaron Ramsdale transfer valuation emerges

Meanwhile, the price which West Ham United are willing to pay for in-demand goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been revealed.

West Ham are among a clutch of top-flight clubs to be linked with a move for Ramsdale following Southampton's relegation.

According to a report from TEAMtalk last Thursday, the Hammers value Ramsdale at £20 million amid competition from the likes of Leeds United, Newcastle and Bournemouth.

It is said, however, that West Ham may have to increase their offer and pay Ramsdale's relegation release clause, which is believed to be £25 million.

That's the same fee that Southampton shelled out to Arsenal for the England international's signature just last summer, and he has impressed between the sticks in what has been a dismal campaign on the south coast.

Southampton's transfer interest in Sunderland's Anthony Patterson

Southampton are already searching for a potential successor to Ramsdale, which could come in the form of Sunderland shot-stopper Anthony Patterson.

A report published by The Sun on May 3 revealed Southampton's interest in Patterson. The 25-year-old is currently being monitored ahead of a potential move this summer, although that will naturally hinge on the outcome of Sunderland's play-off bid.

Should the Black Cats fail to achieve promotion, Southampton will have a much better chance of landing Patterson, who kept 14 clean sheets from 42 appearances in the regular campaign for Regis Le Bris' side.

Southampton's transfer interest in Crystal Palace's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

The Saints are evidently intent on bolstering the wide areas of the squad, which has also seen them linked with a move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

According to The Sun's Alan Nixon, who reported the claim via his exclusive Patreon service on May 4, Southampton are eyeying up a fresh move for the winger after missing out on his services last summer.

As also reported by Nixon, a £5 million package plus add-ons was offered to Crystal Palace for the highly-rated attacker, although that proposal was rejected and he eventually ended up joining Sheffield United on loan.

Rak-Sakyi helped the Blades to a third-placed finish in the Championship by recording seven goals and two assists from 34 appearances, and Palace's stance on his long-term future at Selhurst Park remains unclear for the time being.
